Hey yall!
Wow does it feel good to be back!! I haven't posted a blog post since January of 2018....yikes. I decided it was time to bring this bad boy back, but in a new and improved version! I hope yall enjoy whats to come here on my blog, you can expect to see a lot of college tips (duh), lifestyle posts like recipes I'm trying, outfits I'm buying, things I'm loving, and so much more!
Before we dive into all the content, I wanted to reflect on 2019 since it is a new year and a new decade. I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane with me, and hope you stick around for more! If you come across a link anywhere, that means there is a video or vlog to go with that event if you want to watch as you read!
JANUARY
At the beginning of January I chopped all my hair off, and I actually liked it way more than I thought I would (and so did yall when I asked if I should do it again on my instagram!) I held my FIRST EVER giveaway on my channel with a brand new bullet journal and journaling goodies. It was also recruitment season in the sorority world during the first 2 weekends of classes and oh my GOODNESS was that tiring and exhausting. BUT, we ended recruitment with Bid Day where my two favs (Rachel and Lexi) ran home to Alpha O with me.
FEBRUARY
In February I got to be acting Alpha Omicron Pi President for a weekend as I went to our Leadership Academy which is held at our headquarters. It was so cool to get to tour our headquarters building and learn so much more about AOII as an organization. Griffin and I celebrated Valentine's Day at a Blue Jackets game (who's surprised lol). We had our first TG of the semester, which was Valentine's Day themed with Pi Lambda Phi, which I took advantage of to go shopping with and match my ~f u t u r e~ littles. As Vice President of Chapter Development for AOII I got to plan all of our sisterhoods and other events for the year, and in February we had our Mom's Weekend and Founder's Day Brunch where I took some of the moms on a bar crawl and made my mom take tequila shots with me at every bar lol. I ended February with the most perfect little EVER at big little reveal for AOII.
MARCH
I was so excited for March because it was going to be my first ever trip I have taken with friends, and we were going to Tybee Island, Georgia for Spring Break! Allison, Lexi, Carl, Cassidy, Connor, Aaron, Sam, Christina, Hunter, Griffin, and Myself drank Wet Willies everyday, explored Savannah, and Allison, Lexi, and I got matching tattoos while we were there! The tattoo was a small dainty rose with 'sisters' in cursive as the stem. This tattoo has now become our family symbol between Allison's fam and mine, and I love it, the meaning behind it, and who all has them (and who will have them in the future) oh so much. When we came back it was Date Party season as AOII held theirs at Midway and DU held theirs at Formaggio's. To finish the month I got to initiate my TWO littles (since we added Lexi to the fam in March) into Alpha Omicron Pi.
APRIL
April was so jam packed with so many events and parties in AOII. We had a super fun Wig TG, a Jersey party with DU, and a Nickelodeon themed TG with our Greek Week partners. I must say, our outfits were pretty bomb for all of those. At the end of Greek Week AOII competed in the Greek Week Variety Show with our dance team that I coached and choreographed. Although we didn't win, it was so much fun to coach and perform again on stage! At the end of April DU held their Formal in Gatlinburg, Tennessee where Griffin and I traveled with some of his brothers and their dates, and stayed in a cabin for the weekend. I spent WEEKS painting this cooler for Griffin for the trip, because apparently that's what your formal date is supposed to do lol. And then we ended April with AOII's formal which was held at The Walrus where my littles and I won Best Big Little during our sashing ceremony.
MAY
May was a weird month for me because earlier this semester I had decided I wasn't going to graduate on time and I was going to stay another year at OSU to finish my classes, so when everyone was graduating I was definitely feeling a little left out. I moved out of the AOII house and moved in with Allison and Kaitlynn for the summer before heading to Virginia Beach with Hannah for a little post school year vaca to visit her sister and brother in law. One of my favorite parts of being an OSU student is honestly the OSU Day at Cedar Point every May. It was a fun way to end the school year. One of my besties Christina, or Tino as we call her, celebrated her 21st birthday in May and I'm so glad she came back to Columbus to celebrate so I could be there with her!
JUNE
June was pretty uneventful in terms of exciting things to reminisce on. It was mainly filled with me filming and editing videos and working a full time job, oops.
JULY
But July was so much fun because I went to my first Pride Parade in Columbus and oh my god was it such an amazing place to be at. I honestly cannot wait to go every year for the rest of my life. Lexi and I celebrated the 4th of July in Columbus at the parade and festival that is held, and coincidentally we ended up matching outfits lol. And then I had the most amazing trip with Allison and Kaitlynn when we went to Norris Lake on their families House Boat. I had never been on a boat before this and I had so much fun that week!
AUGUST
August started my ~v l o g u s t~ series I started on my channel where I posted a video everyday in the month of August, basically a vlogmas in the summer lol. That was so much fun, but also stressful!! Then came move in day for my off campus apartment where I'm living with Allison (a different Allison lol), Hannah, and of course KITTY!!! I was so happy to finally be living with her again because of course I can't have her in the dorms or the sorority house. I started my last year as an undergrad at Ohio State, omg. I planned AOII's first Sisterhood Retreat in YEARS which (in my opinion) was so much fun. We went to a nearby park and did some hiking, played games, ate good food, and of course took pictures. How could I forget that on August 23rd I held my first ever MEET AND GREET on campus!!!! I can't even put into words how happy I was to get to meet so many of you and hug you and just talk with you all day! To top the high I was riding all day, my sorority sisters surprised me on the oval with giant 20k balloons to celebrate!! It took everything in me not to cry at that moment. I have never felt so loved and appreciated by all of you and by my sisters than in that moment right there.
SEPTEMBER
In September Griffin took it upon himself to buy me a bike so that I could go on rides with him. Because if you didn't know, this man is obsessed with bikes, I'm not joking. We went on our first ride at a nearby park and trail in Dublin, OH and I must say, it was quite enjoyable but boy did my butt hurt the next day lol. Since Rachel (my other little) and Alexis (Allison's little) couldn't come with us on Spring Break, they never got our fam tattoos, until now! Allison and I took them to a tattoo shop near campus so they could finally get theirs with us. If you were curious, Rachel did great, but Alexis was literally SCREAMING and CRYING hahaha! But now she wants more, so she's fine. September is the month for our annual Spike Out Arthritis philanthropy event where we hold a volleyball tournament at a nearby sand volleyball court, which of course we went to and had fun at.
OCTOBER
Ohio State thankfully gives us a very small Fall Break in October which Griffin and I used to travel to Athens, OH for a long bike ride at such a beautiful trail. Hunter, Christina, Griffin and I went on our annual double date to Cedar Point for HalloWeekends. This years weather definitely treated us better than last years freezing rain all night. In the spirit on Halloween, Allison, Alexis, Kaitlynn, Lexi, Rachel, and I went to the Haunted Hoochie for the first time and I LOVED IT! I am obsessed with haunted houses and this one was SO good! This years Halloween costumes consisted of a cat (duh), Brittney Spears from her Hit Me Baby One More Time music video, and a matching TJ and Spinelli from the show Recess with Griffin, all of which were a hit.
NOVEMBER
DU celebrated their Founder's Day in November with a nice dinner banquet at the Union. I was voted Sister of the Year by my chapter at our annual State of PHA Banquet which was held at the Shoe. I went to my last ever football game as an undergrad, OSU vs. Maryland (yes, of course we won). I was voted Most SRAT at our Date Party in November at Callahan's, which my little Lexi did so amazing at planning as Social Chair! We ended November with a surprise 20th birthday party for Rachel because her birthday was over Thanksgiving break and she wouldn't be on campus for it. Her face was priceless when I opened the door, she was so surprised it was great!
DECEMBER
Oh my god, December was a hectic one. December is the month of vlogmas where I post a video everyday leading up to Christmas and that is EXHAUSTING let me tell you. I finished up my semester of 3 classes with two A-'s and a B+. Allison and I celebrated our 23rd birthdays with a Michael Jordan jersey party. Christina, Hunter, Caitlin, Jacob, Griffin, and I went to the Columbus Zoo Lights to see some cute animals and pretty lights. And how could I forget that GRIFFIN FREAKING GRADUATED COLLEGE!!!!! We celebrated with a Christmas trip to Florida to visit his grandparents, which was a much needed vacation after vlogmas and school. And ended 2019 at a Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game and then with champagne at midnight with friends.
------------
After taking the time to look back on the year and write this post I am filled with so much joy and love for everything and everyone in my life. I cannot wait to see what 2020 brings as this will be the year that I graduate from The Ohio State University, get a full time ~a d u l t~ job, move out on my own with Griffin, and start a brand new chapter in my life.
Bring it on!
